Knowth, located in County Meath, Ireland, is a very significant and impressive prehistoric site here in Ireland. It is part of the Brú na Bóinne complex, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Knowth is famous for its large passage tomb, which dates back to around 3,200 BC, making it older than the pyramids of Egypt. The site includes a central mound surrounded by 17 smaller satellite tombs. The tombs are decorated with intricate megalithic art, including some of the finest examples of Neolithic carvings found in Ireland. Knowth was used as a ceremonial and burial site for thousands of years and continues to be a fascinating portal into to Ireland’s ancient past.
